Two sources for this print of wishes for 2025: !
The hope of a good government, inspired by the Siena fresco. In 1338, the Republic was threatened, but a painting stood up, commissioned by the Government of the Nine, created by Ambrogio Lorenzetti at the Palazzo Publico, and restored in 2021. On one wall, good government, in the guise of female characters, Wisdom, Concord, Justice, and black and white, incarnations of the Common Good; on the other wall, the effects of bad government.
This pictorial figuration still speaks to us !
-Trees, those social beings who, according to Peter Wohlleben, are united in the forest, communicate with the help of chemical substances, support each other, and give unconditionally. Trees that grow together and live in a community.
And the owl which, with its eyes open, symbolizes wisdom, intuition, discernment.
The stages of line-engraving become a ritual, in which the impossibility of reverting to a preceding stage shape the result as a joyous discovery.
